GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. – The Envision Healthcare Center for Quality and Patient Safety has been listed as a Patient Safety Organization (PSO), effective Oct. 19, by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

“We are extremely proud to be listed as a Patient Safety Organization,” said Gerald Maccioli, M.D., MBA, FCCM, FASA, Chief Quality Officer and Medical Director of Clinical Research and Scientific Intelligence of Envision Healthcare. “As a physician-centric organization that focuses on supporting providers in the pursuit of improving population health, the listing demonstrates our commitment to improving the quality of the communities we serve.”

Envision Physician Services, a national healthcare company, offers hospitals, health system, payors and patients an integrated suite of services with clinical expertise in six areas of care. Through our Envision Healthcare Center for Quality and Patient Safety, our clinical leadership and business experts identify gaps in care and develop strategies to help improve clinical outcomes. Our teams practice evidence-based medicine, follow quality reporting guidelines and utilize platforms that enhance the safety and delivery of care for both providers and patients.

Dr. Maccioli, who serves as the Chief Medical Director of the Envision Healthcare Center for Quality and Patient Safety, said that as a leading healthcare organization, Envision holds itself to high standards. “This is a significant step in the evolution of our company. As we are one of the largest providers of physician services and one of the top providers of ASC management in the U.S., the PSO will allow us to use the enormous amount of clinical data captured to produce PSO work-products, which will have a significant impact on patient outcomes.
